Job Summary:
The job holder is responsible for identifying and managing relationships with small and medium-sized business clients to expand the business loan portfolio. The primary goal is to expand the loan portfolio by sourcing, structuring, and closing business loan opportunities.
Duties would include:

- Developing and delivering engaging presentations to various audiences, including existing and potential members.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with industry professionals, government financial intermediaries, and strategic partners to promote Ariza’s business loan services.
- Guiding members through the business loan application process, ensuring all documentation and compliance requirements are met.
- Reviewing and analyzing financial data and business loan applications in accordance with established policies.
- Collecting and interpreting industry data to support informed lending decisions.
- Preparing and submitting loan applications for approval.
- Collaborating with internal teams to ensure efficient loan processing and exceptional member service.
- Supporting marketing initiatives by contributing to the development and execution of promotional programs.
- Managing and utilizing pipeline reports to prioritize outreach and follow-ups.
- Ensuring timely loan processing, disbursement, and collections to maintain a healthy loan portfolio.
- Representing Ariza Credit Union at community and industry events to enhance visibility and foster new business opportunities.
- Assisting in managing delinquency levels and contributing to risk mitigation strategies.
- Conducting annual portfolio reviews and business visits to identify opportunities and assess risk.
- Staying informed on financial industry trends, market conditions, and competitor offerings to enhance Ariza’s competitiveness.
- Cross-selling and upselling Ariza’s products and services to meet member needs.
Requirements:
Minimum Education & Training:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- A professional certification in Credit Underwriting from a recognized institution will be an asset
Preferred Experience:
At least three (3) years’ experience in a similar role underwriting loans. Preferred Competences, Qualities & Character Traits:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. Working knowledge of Sharetec software would be an asset.
- Excellent emotional intelligence and customer service skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Extensive knowledge of business, residential and other loan underwriting policies and procedures.
- Ability to create, implement, and monitor budgets.
- Ability to read and understand financial statements.
