The Grenada Public Service Credit Union trading as Ariza, the island’s leading Credit Union, is increasing its involvement in carnival in 2017.    

The Grenada Public Service Credit Union was recently rebranded.  Under its new trade name and brand, Ariza, the Credit Union focuses on the “I” in the middle of the word Ariza. This “I” symbolizes every member as Individual, industrious and seeking financial independence. Each member is supported in their endeavours and the realization of their dreams by the rest of the Credit Union’s membership within the co-operative spirit and philosophy. Under this brand the Credit Union seeks to extend its appeal to the younger, technologically savvy, and independently minded individual.   Its support of the ‘I” for carnival translates into the supporting the creative, fun-loving and lighter side present in all Grenadians while  promoting the positive economic and social benefits that can result.

Spicemas, as the premiere cultural event on Grenada’s calendar needs to be supported and nurtured to grow and develop into more of an economic boon for the nation. It is an opportunity for Grenadians not only to support our heritage, but also to venture into entrepreneurial, and microbusinesses which extend far beyond the seasonal activity. The Credit Union considers the arrangement a partnership with Spice Mas and is solidifying its foothold in the festival by offering its third year in a row “Awesome August Loan” which can be utilized for a myriad of purposes including the purchase of Carnival Costumes and related expenses. As a partner, Ariza will be the platinum/title sponsor of the Children’s Carnival Frolic (Kiddies Carnival) scheduled for Aug. 5^th 2017, and will participate in many other events.

Ariza’s sojourn into carnival is by no means a new initiative. It has been the proud title sponsor of Rainbow City Mas Promoter Mas Band over the last five (5) years, led by community and cultural businessman Peter Bain. The Rainbow City Mas band is the largest Mas band from the St. Andrew parish. In 2016, the band ventured into competition on the main stage in St. George and were able to capture the Band of the year, King of the band, Second place for Queen of the band, and Third place for the Kids section of the band

Carnival is Grenada’s most significant cultural event, where we showcase our local talent, culture, and celebrate our rich history.
