Petite Martinique, the smallest of the Grenada Tri-Island state came alive with activities over a four day period beginning from Friday 18th to Monday 21st May with its ever-growing Whitsuntide Regatta Festival.
Ariza has been a sponsor for a number of years, however this year Ariza decided to invest more in the festival by becoming one of its Gold Sponsors. The weekend started with an opening ceremony accompanied by cultural performances and other cultural dances and ended with lustrous fireworks to signal the beginning of a fun-filled weekend.
Activities continued into the Saturday with various races on the beach and around the island and culminated with a highly anticipated show from soca artiste Benji from Trinidad, Lava Man, DJ High Voltage, DJ Desktop and DJ Danielle from Grenada. Sunday was not short of excitement as the day began with the boat racing, obstacle races, the various competition including beer drinking, bun eating, apple eating, slippers race, swimming race among others and climaxed with a beach party into Monday Morning.
Monday was highly looked forward to by locals, foreigners and visiting nationals for the Breaking Dawn Petite Martinique Premiere Street J’ouvert. Old Oil, Paint and Powder filled the streets as masqueraders paraded and partied through the streets following the DJ truck. While some continued to revel others gathered on the beach to witness more boat racing and onshore games and competition. The weekend’s activities ended with a closing ceremony, party and fireworks on the beach.
