Positions: Loan Analyst (Retail) and Loan Analyst (Business)

Job Summary:

The Loan Analyst will provide front end service to borrowing members as part of the lending process, in accordance with ‘The Ariza Way’ loan delivery standards, and the Credit Union’s policies and procedures.

Responsibilities would include:

1. Engage with, and advise members on viable borrowing solutions, providing financial counselling and making appropriate recommendations.
2. Business Loan Analyst:
   1. Guide members in the preparation of viable business proposals.
   2. Review and conduct financial analysis on business loan applications.
3. Analyse and evaluate members’ loan requests to ensure viability; prepare applications.
4. Assist in the preparation of reports to aid in the monitoring of the loan portfolio.
5. Capitalize on opportunities for loan growth, in order to achieve annual targets.

Requirements:

• Education and Training:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Business, or related field required.
2. Retail Loan Analyst: Certified Residential Underwriter (CRU) or other related Professional Certification.
3. Training in accounting to be able to prepare and analyse financial statements and to prepare and analyse cash flow statement.

• Experience:

1. Five (5) years’ experience underwriting loans, including for mortgages.
2. Business Loan Analyst: Experience in preparation and/or analysis of business plans including financial statements.
3. Experience in a credit union or other financial institution would be desirable.
