Position: Supervisor, Accounting

Job Summary:

The Supervisor, Accounting will assist the Manager, Accounting to prepare financial reports, as well as oversee the daily activities of the Unit to ensure service delivery in accordance with ‘The Ariza Way’ standards, as well as adherence to the Credit Union’s policies and procedures, including on Anti-Money Laundering.

Responsibilities would include:

1. Supervise the work of the Accounts team ensuring accuracy in the completion of duties as well as adherence to controls (internal and external) and ‘The Ariza Way’ standards.
2. Perform general cost accounting duties and maintain the general ledger.
3. Assist with the preparation of monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
4. Review reconciliation of bank accounts and ATM transactions.
5. Assist with providing information to the external auditors.
6. Ensure that statutory payments are submitted.

Requirements:

• Education and Training:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting plus attainment of up to the Applied Knowledge level of the ACCA or similar professional accounting qualifications.

• Experience:

1. At least (1) year of experience supervising an Accounting team.
2. Experience in a credit union or financial institution would be an asset.
