The Grenada Public Service Co-operative Credit Union on Tuesday 19th July made a contribution of Seven Thousand, Four Hundred and Seventy One Dollars and Forty Eight Cents ($7471.48) to the T. A. Marryshow Community College Chemistry Class.
The Chemistry Class of TAMCC will be participating in the regional Caribbean Youth Science Forum competition to be held in Trinidad between July 30th and August 7th 2016. The TAMCC chemistry class participated last year and was able to place 3rd and 4th with two teams attending. Two teams will be representing the school this year; their aim is to take the coveted first and second place in the competition.
This year’s challenge is to purify contaminated water. The teams will have to create an apparatus which is capable of distilling one litre of water filled with colouring, salt, dirt and other materials using household items that are readily available at any mall. The apparatus must fit into a regular student’s knapsack.
The team has been working diligently over the last month in preparing for the competition. The GPSCCU wishes the TAMCC Chemistry Class contingent success in this competition. The GPSCCU recognizes the importance of corporate giving and have made numerous contributions over the years to various educational and cultural initiatives.
